Make a movie that matters!

NuffGlobal in 2007 awarded funds to young filmmakers with engaging film stories on Climate Change. 16 film proposals were selected from 200 submissions, and 15 short fiction, documentary and animation films were selected and made. The NUFFGlobal screening event was in Tromsų, Norway, during the arrangments of the World Environment Day in June 2007. It coincided with the mainstream media finally paying attention to shifting climate conditions and new public awareness about global warming. NUFFGlobal, once a small Nordic youth film project, celebrated its active participation in the Global Changes set in motion this year.

Youth is the NUFFGlobal focus, and it is especially sensitive to change. The spread of Internet media has facilitated remote networks such as the NUFF community of filmmakers, and access to film and media production and distribution is providing audience to talented and committed youth voices. Youth is the cleanest form of energy, and it is mobilizing.

NUFFGlobal 07 films continue to be screened internationally. In the month of October NUFFglobal programs will be shown in Italy (Cinemambiente in Torino), in Czech Republic, (Third Pole climate film festival at AERO kino in Prague) and in Spain (CURTOCIRCUITO in Santiago de Compostela).

This is an important year for NUFFGlobal and Global Changes. We look forward to announcing the next "film idea competition" very soon.
